Highbridge Aquatics started in the fall of 1990 and is a member of United States Swimming. The 2009-10 season will begin our twentieth year of competitive age-group swimming in central Kentucky.

Starting/Ending Dates: Our winter season will begin in September and continues through the end of March. Spring/Summer Long Course season begins in April and continues through the end of July.

Practice Times: All of our practices take place at the Asbury College Luce Physical Activities Center. We typically practice during the 6:00-8:00 p.m. block on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Whenever the Asbury College team is not training, our two-hour block becomes 5:00-7:00 p.m. There is also a Tuesday evening practice and a Saturday morning practice during the 8:00-10:00 a.m. block. The more dedicated seniors will still have Tuesday and Thursday mornings, but this is usually just for the more serious 13 & overs.

Practice Requirements: There are no requirements as far as how often a swimmer must practice. That is up to each swimmer and each family. The 8 & unders practice follow a M-W-F schedule and I recommend at least two to three of these per week. For all other beginners, I would recommend three to four practices per week. As a swimmer becomes more experienced, they may add more practices per week if they choose. Weights and morning workouts will be available for the senior age groups. But the fees are set up to be paid monthly and it really gets back to what each family wants to get out of the program. I will continue to educate, motivate, and challenge each swimmer while trying to remain flexible for each family.

Swim Meets:  All meets are optional and I basically try to schedule an average of one meet per month.

Fees: Other than the monthly fees listed on the FEES page, the only other cost would be a yearly membership with United States Swimming. This cost is $68 per year and usually is due in the month of September.

Registration: To join the team, please complete the medical release form and the registration form and send the September fees to the following address by August 28th:

Chris Fugmann
10 Olde Village Drive
Nicholasville, KY 40356-8714
